Support from Innovation Norway to Gen2 Energy

Innovation Norway considers Gen2 Energy’s business concept to be both highly interesting and as having growth potential. They therefore want to be an active participant in the development of the company. In the first phase, they have given Gen2 Energy a grant of NOK 1.5 million.

The grant consists of a NOK 700.000 commercializing grant and a NOK 800.000 start-up loan.

The commercializing grant is given to innovative projects with a considerable potential for growth internationally, or projects which help regional businesses adapt.

The innovation potential in the Gen2 Energy business proposal is spread on several levels. The main idea of establishing an integrated and intelligent value chain (an ecosystem) for green hydrogen on a large scale—from production to storage to transportation, possibly intermediate storage, and in the end delivery to the end user and return of the empty container.

The key to the concept is the use of custom made, smart containers throughout the value chain within a “plug-and-play” solution, thus being able to deliver green “hydrogen as a service”.
