Bård Mikkelsen has taken on the role of the new chairman of Gen2 Energy. This move is expected to bolster the company’s position and strategy as a long-term player in the green hydrogen market.
With extensive experience in Norwegian business, Bård Mikkelsen, leveraging his broad and relevant expertise, will contribute to ensuring the realization of Gen2 Energy’s large-scale hydrogen projects.
Over the years, Bård Mikkelsen has held several key positions in prominent Norwegian companies. He served as the CEO of Statkraft for almost a decade, from 2001 to 2010, and held the position of CEO in the Ulstein Group for three years. Additionally, he served as the CEO in Oslo Energy Group for two years and in Widerøe from 1988 to 1996. Following this, he held chairmanship roles in Cermaq, Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani, and Multiconsult, as well as serving as a board member in E.ON. Bård Mikkelsen holds education from the Norwegian School of Economics and completed the leadership program at INSEAD. Currently, he serves as the chairman of Clean Energy Group, Clean Energy Invest, WattifEV, Photoncycle and Rudskogen Motorsenter.

At the same time as Bård Mikkelsen has taken on the role of the new chairman, three new board members have joined the board of directors.
Lene Halvari brings over 20 years of experience from the power sector, aviation industry, and maritime sector. Kjetil Bøhn is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in initiating, scaling up, and financing companies. Andrew Robbins has considerable investment experience spanning industrial, energy, agriculture, and basic materials sectors.
In addition, cornerstone investors HyCap, Vitol, and HydrogenOne each have a representative serving as a board member.
With this composition of the board, Gen2 Energy’s is now well-positioned to significantly enhance the company’s prospects of establishing itself as a major player in the hydrogen market in Norway and Europe.
