Camilla Nilsson has been appointed CEO of Gen2 Energy with effect from 1 September. Nilsson joined the company as CFO in June as part of a planned leadership transition. Lena Halvari will continue as Chief Operating Officer.
Halvari joined Gen2 Energy’s Board in January 2024 and, at the Board’s request,
assumed the CEO role in August 2025, with a mandate to stabilise the company and prepare it for its next phase of development.
“I am pleased with both the process and the outcome. Lena has been instrumental in leading Gen2 Energy through an important period, and it was on her own initiative that we began the succession process and planned the handover in stages,” says Bård
Mikkelsen, Chair of the Board of Gen2 Energy. “Camilla brings the strategic, commercial and financial experience we were looking for. With Lena continuing as COO, we combine continuity and deep company knowledge with additional experience in scaling and
financing energy and technology businesses.”
Camilla Nilsson has more than 20 years of international leadership experience across the energy, cleantech and industrial sectors. Before joining Gen2 Energy, she served as CEO of Kyoto Group, a thermal energy storage company. Her previous roles include positions at Yara International and Norsk Hydro, with responsibilities spanning international business development, investments and operational management.
Nilsson will continue to cover the CFO role.
